The conference committee of the Media Fields Editorial Collective is pleased to announce the program for our sixth biennial conference, RUINS. Program highlights include:

An opening keynote address from Dr. Marwan Kraidy, Anthony Shadid Chair of Global Media, Politics & Culture and Director of the Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication at the University of Pennsylvania (Sponsored by the Mellichamp Global Dynamics Initiative) – 4:00 PM, April 6, SSMS 2135

A closing keynote address from Dr. Rahul Mukherjee, a UCSB Film & Media Studies alum and current Dick Wolf Assistant Professor of Television and New Media Studies at the University of Pennsylvania – 3:30 PM, April 7, HSSB 6020

A screening of the 2014 documentary The Overnighters, followed by a Q&A with director Jesse Moss – 7:00 PM, April 5, Pollock Theater

Full details of the program are available online. All conference panels are open to the public. Screening of The Overnighters is similarly free of charge and open to the community, but reservations are required to guarantee seats. Reservations will be available soon through the Carsey-Wolf Center.
